Film: All of Us Strangers

Opened: December 22, 2023

Directed by: Andrew Haigh

Starring: Andrew Scott, Paul Mescal, Jamie Bell & Claire Foy

With a deep storyline and a fantastic small cast, All of Us Strangers is hauntingly beautiful and will rip your heart out in the best way.

Adam (Andrew Scott) is a writer who continually visits his childhood home where he sees his parents (Jamie Bell & Claire Foy) who died when he was 12. He begins seeing and opening up to Harry (Paul Mescal).

Watching the relationship that Adam creates with his parents and coming out process is bittersweet. It speaks to struggles within the LGBTQ+ community but also transcends the usual boundaries of an LGBTQ+ film.

Scott brings a purity to Adam that’ll make you trust his story and has incredible chemistry with Mescal on both sexual and romantic levels. Foy and Bell are brilliant as the long-gone parents and interact strongly with Scott.

Final say: It’s a tearjerker. ★★★★★
