With constant energy, fully developed characters and an emotional core, Train to Busan is one of the best zombie movies you’ll find – if not the best.

Seok-woo (Gong Yoo) is taking his daughter Su-an (Kim Su-an) to Busan to spend her birthday with her mother. While onboard, they learn of an outbreak that is making people turn violent. Soon the infection reaches the train and Seok-woo, along with other passengers – fight for their lives.

The film starts with strongly dissociated emotions between Seok-woo and Su-an, so you’re quickly wrapped up in their story. But several other storylines, like the pregnant Seong-kyeong (Jung Yu-mi) and sisters Jong-gil (Park Myung-sin) and In-gil (Ye Soo-jung), are highly engaging.

With the zombies moving quickly, the film is chaotic and nerve-wracking in the best way.

Final say: Get me a ticket. ★★★★★
