Creating iconic characters and a love story for the ages, Lady and the Tramp might have a few missteps but overall remains a charming classic.

American Cocker Spaniel Lady (Barbara Luddy) loves her owners Jim Dear (Lee Millar) and Darling (Peggy Lee) but feels distanced when Darling becomes pregnant. She meets Tramp (Larry Roberts) who gets her into mischief she never imagined.

It’s important to point out the poor aging of the Siamese cats (both also voiced by Lee) and their cultural stereotypes. While their song is a memorable one, it’s cringe-inducing.

However, the “Bella Notte” scene with Lady and Tramp eating spaghetti and meatballs is still one of the most romantic moments in film history. You can feel the tension between them that climaxes with an accidental kiss.

Final say: Entertaining and lovely to look at. ★★★★☆
