By documenting the career of a hit (fictional) band from the ‘70s, author Taylor Jenkins Reid creates a vivid picture the comes off the page and makes you wish you were there with Daisy Jones & the Six.
Years after their heyday, members of the band Daisy Jones & the Six reflect on their rise to fame.
By using the characters to tell their own story, Reid allows you to fall in deep with them. There are conflicting points of view throughout, but it adds to the realism of life. And being able to read multiple points of view at the band’s highs and lows allows you to grasp how each situation affects everyone.
Billy Dunne and Daisy Jones are completely realized characters with major flaws, but you’ll be rooting for them.
Final say: An incredible piece of historical fiction. ★★★★★
