Though he hits on some hilarious reflections about his life and the state of America, the way Chris Rock relies on crude humor ends up taking away from his work.

Rock refers to the way people prefer to be mad at some things but ignore others that are just as bad. He also touches on abortions and trans people as well as addressing that infamous Oscars slap from Will Smith.

Rock’s response to the Smith/Oscars controversy is well-deserved with jokes throughout before making it his ending zinger. He also provides great stances on being pro-choice and accepting the trans community.

However, those sections are overshadowed because of his long diatribe about “pussy,” “licking ass” and dating younger women. The shock value of these overly obscene jokes devalues his more important messages throughout.
