Not taking any of the risks former DreamWorks movies have, Home is a predictable story that has been previously done better.
On the run from the threatening Gorg, one Boov, Oh (Jim Parsons), accidentally sends out directions to their current location on Earth and when he’s threatened by other Boov, he takes solace in human girl Tip (Rihanna).
Though the details are vastly different, it’s hard not to compare the story’s shell to Lilo & Stitch, which has a more heartfelt story. There are multiple times in this film where it feels like the story is about to wrap up only for it to continue much further.
Parsons and Steve Martin (as Boov leader Captain Smek) give fantastic vocal performances, but Rihanna’s voice sounds far too mature for the young Tip.
Final say: Home is not where the heart is. ★☆☆☆☆
