For those unfamiliar with the humor of comedy troupe Monty Python, the Holy Grail feels wildly absurd but that’s exactly what makes it so funny.

King Arthur (Graham Chapman) is on the search for men to join his Knights of the Roundtable. Once he staffs up, he’s sent on a quest by God to find the Holy Grail but encounters many obstacles along the way.

You may need some time to reflect, but several of the gags in this film are brilliantly comedic. From the failure of a Trojan horse-type plot to the questioning bridge keeper (Terry Gilliam) to a murderous bunny, there are wild moments that’ll make you wonder what is happening.

All the actors play multiple roles but it’s not distracting to see the same faces so often.

Final say: Insanity but still entertaining. ★★★★☆
