In the second feature film in which she writes and directs, Emerald Fennell continues to prove that her storytelling ability is massive.

Oliver (Barry Keoghan) is a loner at Oxford who makes a connection with Felix (Jacob Elordi). Having nowhere to go over the summer, Felix invites Oliver to his home of Saltburn – a large estate where his eccentric family lives.

Keoghan gives a wonderfully twisted performance as Oliver. While you may be able to guess some of his actions, they don’t cease to surprise you. Elordi provides Felix with a free-spirited sexiness that’s alluring.

The story is wild and shot with a gothic tone that’s incredibly gorgeous. It’s not the typical drug and party rich-people world seen in many films, but that won’t stop you from wanting to be part of it.

Final say: Thrilling in all manners. ★★★★☆
