In his directorial debut, Michael B. Jordan takes a character he knows well and gives him a satisfying third chapter with a deep story and fantastic fight scenes.

After winning his final fight, Donnie Creed (Jordan) is visited by childhood friend Damian Anderson (Jonathan Majors). When Damian begins badmouthing Donnie to the press, the two gear up for the ultimate fight of their past and present.

Jordan allows us to dive further into Adonis’ past as he battles demons that he thought he’d suppressed. Phylicia Rashad stands out on the emotional side as Donnie’s adoptive mother.

The ASL representation in this film is something that’s missing in most mainstream media. Adonis’ daughter Amara (Mila Davis-Kent) is played by a deaf actress and Jordan, Rashad and Tessa Thompson’s ASL skills flow easily.

Final say: Creed is the one to beat. ★★★★★
