Up until the last 25 minutes, Non-Stop is a great thriller with a fantastic – if underutilized – cast. If you can suspend your disbelief, the ending is just as exciting. It’s just highly unrealistic.
Aboard an international flight traveling to London, Federal Air Marshall Bill Marks (Liam Neeson) begins receiving texts on a secure network threatening the lives of everyone on the plane.
The film boasts a strong cast but outside of Neeson’s character, no one has much to do and are each vying for their time. Julianne Moore’s character is a stress reliever throughout, but barely has screentime in the second half outside of briefly being a suspect.
Using the concept of a killer onboard a plane isolated above the ocean provides great anxiety. It’s just the wild ending that takes away from the smart story.
Final say: Non-stop thrills. ★★★☆☆
