With a wildly violent premise that defies logic, Law Abiding Citizen may not be good storytelling, but it’s highly entertaining.

Ten years after Clyde Shelton (Gerard Butler) witnesses the murder of his wife and daughter, he kills the men responsible. His former lawyer Nick Rice (Jamie Foxx) is brought back to the case and realizes that Clyde has a master plan to take his vengeance.

Butler and Foxx have a good dynamic going with their many interactions, though the lengths their characters go to far outreach anything plausible. Especially in Clyde’s case – for him to commit the crimes he does in the film, there’d have to be a supreme lack of security.

With that being said, you’ll be on the edge of your seat to figure out what happens next.

Final say: Outrageous fun if you can stomach it. ★★★☆☆
