Even with the fantastic Lucy Liu front and center, this vampire thriller doesn’t have the story or action to make it worth watching.

Reporter Sadie Blake’s (Liu) most recently story finds her in a dangerous spot with Bishop (James D’Arcy) and Eve (Carla Gugino), who try to kill her but transform her into a vampire like them. Detective Clyde Rawlins’ (Michael Chiklis) daughter Tricia (Margo Harshman) is also a victim, which has him on the hunt for her killer.

All the characters are kept at surface level so there’s no development or connection to be made. We understand why Sadie is hunting Bishop down but watching her train or learning more about Bishop’s past would’ve created a better drama. However, there are a ton of random cameos that make for an interesting cast.

Final say: This should’ve stayed down. ★★☆☆☆
