Will you understand what Asteroid City is about? Probably not. Will you enjoy it if you let your mind be free? Probably.

A television show is broadcasting the play Asteroid City by renowned playwright Conrad Earp (Edward Norton). In the play, Asteroid City is hosting a Junior Stargazer convention, which is attended by the children of actress Midge Campbell (Scarlett Johansson) and recent widower Augie Steenbeck (Jason Schwartzman).

The film contains wonderful humor from its all-star and in true Wes Anderson style, it’s delivered very deadpan. The play within the film is crazy and drifts from realism but has heart when it comes to loneliness.

With vibrant colors and sets so fake that you’d be disappointed if they looked genuine, the style of the film is what makes it truly great.

Final say: I’ll have whatever Wes Anderson is having. ★★★★☆
