There wasn’t a need for a sequel to the iconic Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and this film proves that to be true.
Shu Lien (Michelle Yeoh) emerges from retirement as Hades Dai (Jason Scott Lee) learns he must obtain Green Destiny to rule the Martial World since it surpasses his sword. Dai sends Wei Fang (Harry Shum Jr.) who becomes intertwined with Snow Vase (Natasha Liu Bordizzo).
While the martial arts look fantastic in this film, especially every time Yeoh wields a sword, there’s no passion. Most of the characters ae undeveloped, so you end up only rooting for Yeoh – the sole returning cast member.
You can tell many of the martial arts scenes have been filmed on greenscreens, and the combination of actors and background doesn’t match with the lighting and coloring.
Final say: This dragon should be hiding. ★☆☆☆☆
