With a rushed, yet empty storyline and musical numbers that add nothing to the product, Pot o’ Gold is a film best left in the past.

Jimmy Haskell (James Stewart) moves in with his Uncle Charles (Charles Winnninger) who has a rivalry with his next-door neighbors, the McCorkle’s, who have a band. Charles wants them to stop playing music, but his factory makes noise that bothers them. Jimmy gets tangled with Molly McCorkle (Mary Gordon).

With conflicts being constantly added to the plot, it just seems like they didn’t know what story they were trying to tell. And while the problems aren’t hard to follow, they don’t seem realistic enough to be enjoyable. Even Stewart and Gordon’s romance isn’t developed and lacks chemistry.

Final say: You won’t find this at the end of a rainbow. ★★☆☆☆
