A mostly improvisational comedy-drama featuring three Hollywood heavyweights and two rising stars, Let Them All Talk may not be the most gripping story, but it’s one you that will keep you invested.
Novelist Alice Hughes (Meryl Streep) is traveling overseas to accept an award in fiction but can’t fly. With her nephew Tyler (Lucas Hedges) and friends Roberta (Candice Bergen) and Susan (Dianne Wiest), Alice travels aboard the Queen Mary II.
Natural lighting is used, and most scenes had a basic outline that the actors could run with, so everything feels natural. However, there are times where you can feel the improvisation and wish for a little fine tuning.
Tyler and Karen’s (Gemma Chan) storyline is one of the best as Hedges and Chan’s chemistry leads you to cheer their characters on.
Final say: More could’ve been talked about. ★★★☆☆
