Outranking most of the Marvel and DC Comics films, The Incredibles is an exciting superhero film that’s fun for kids, but intelligently crafted for adults.

After superheroes have been forced into hiding, Bob Parr a.k.a. Mr. Incredible (Craig T. Nelson) is recruited on a mission unaware he’s being set up by former fan Buddy a.k.a. Syndrome (Jason Lee). Bob’s wife Helen a.k.a. Elastigirl (Holly Hunter) and their kids Violet (Sarah Vowell) and Dash (Spencer Fox) go to save him.

Watching this as an adult, there’s a lot of trauma and depression present in the retired superheroes that goes over your head as a kid. Even Edna Mode’s (voiced hilariously by director Brad Bird) conversation about capes gives deep meaning to her character.

More than just a smart script, the action is fantastic and will keep you engrossed.

Final say: Incredible(s). ★★★★★
