A largely forgettable crime film, the stellar cast of The Family suffers because of a weak script that doesn’t develop the characters and constantly shifts tones.

Under the FBI’s witness protection program, Giovanni Manzoni (Robert De Niro), his wife Maggie (Michelle Pfeiffer) and kids Belle (Dianna Agron) and Warren (John D’Leo) begin a new life in France. Though in jail, Don Luchese (Stan Carp) discovers the family and orders them to be taken out.

The biggest tonal shifts unfortunately come with Agron’s Belle. One moment she’s telling her mom she’ll wait for the love of her life to have sex and then she tries to sleep with a teacher and then goes to kill herself. It could make sense but is rushed too quickly making it all feel off.

Final say: This family is one you won’t care for. ★★☆☆☆
