Despite Liane Moriarty’s previous two novels not living up to her earlier works, Apples Never Fall is a well-rounded mystery that’ll give you chills down to the final sentence.

Joy and Stan Delaney have a picture-perfect marriage and are fierce business partners. However, the arrival of a mysterious stranger and the disappearance of Joy makes Joy and Stan’s four adult children wonder if their mother is alive – and if they’re father had anything to do with it.

As always, Moriarty puts just as much work into her main characters as she does the supporting ones. While you fall into the family dynamics of the Delaneys, you also learn secrets of their neighbors and friends.

Just when you might think you have evidence figured out, there are no shortage of twists to keep you changing directions.
