Original Los Angeles Cast: Constance Wu, Finn Wittrock, Anna Camp & Adam Rothenberg
Keeping you guessing until its final moments with enough scenes to give you chills, 2:22 A Ghost Story is the perfect play for audiences looking for a thrill.
Alone with her baby in a house she and husband Sam (Finn Wittrock) are renovating, Jenny (Constance Wu) experiences paranormal activity each night at 2:22 a.m. When Sam returns, they have friends Lauren (Anna Camp) and Ben (Adam Rothenberg) over. With some skeptics, the group stays up to investigate.
Each interlude starts with a high-pitched scream, which provides great jump scares. There’s a perfect sense of eeriness and stage mechanics to make you feel like you’re in a scary movie.
Wu and Camp both act a bit over-the-top, which takes away from the authenticity of the show, but Wittrock and Rothenberg integrate seamlessly into the story.
Final say: Don’t forget to breathe. ★★★★☆
