Remaining true to its horrifying true story, Dahmer will consistently make you feel uncomfortable while bringing light to the victims of the titular notorious serial killer.

Between 1978 and 1991, Jeffrey Dahmer (Evan Peters) lures in young men – mostly of color – and murders them. Neighbor Glenda Cleveland (Niecy Nash) consistently tries to warn authorities of suspicious behavior but is ignored.

While you do feel an incredible amount of sympathy towards the actual families of the victims, the uncomfortable-to-watch stories are important to see in historical context. The police – largely consisting of white men – consistently ignore issues due to the victims being in minorities. It’s an issue that is still prevalent today.

Peters gives a chilling performance while Nash continues to show her strengths as an actor in this dramatic mother-type role.

Final say: Monstrous behavior brought to life. ★★★★☆
