Ending with some huge cliffhangers that will kill fans since the show was subsequently cancelled, Pushing Daisies is even smarter in its second season.
Ned (Lee Pace) and Chuck (Anna Friel) continue to solve murders with Emerson (Chi McBride) as they navigate their unusual love life. Olive Snook (Kristin Chenoweth) does a stint in a nunnery trying to get over Ned while Vivian (Ellen Greene) and Lily (Swoosie Kurtz) venture out.
This show continues to have incredible production design with its brightly colored sets and costumes. With zippy dialogue that’s often tongue-in-cheek, you’ll notice layers of comedy that come from some of the best comedy writers.
While the main cast all shine in their own ways, Olive’s character development (and slight regression) makes Chenoweth the one to keep your eyes on.
Final say: An abrupt ending for a delightful show. ★★★★★
