There’s no denying Never Have I Ever has its laugh out loud moments, but season three suffers from shallow characters with erratic development and clichéd storylines.

Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) has finally reached her dream of dating the hot and popular Paxton Hall-Yoshida (Darren Barnet), but it’s not smooth sailing. Meanwhile, Kamala (Richa Moorjani) and Nalini (Poorna Jagannathan) explore new relationships.

Just when Devi’s at a strong point, the writer’s tear her down again. Watching Nalini’s new friendship with Rhyah (Sarayu Blue) ending in a fight, it’s almost as if the writers don’t want the Indian women leading the show to have healthy relationships.

It’s also disappointing to see Eleanor (Ramona Young) selfishly happy that her boyfriend Trent (Benjamin Norris) failed senior year when he’s become a fan favorite to cheer for.

Final say: Almost no one has a satisfying arc. ★★☆☆☆
