As time goes on, the drama that had waned after the first few seasons of RuPaul’s Drag Race seems to be coming back in full force. This season is one of the most cutthroat yet.
The season benefits from one of the most diverse casts yet, but everyone is fighting someone. Ra’Jah O’Hara argues with most of the cast and Silky Nutmeg Ganache has an all-out war with Yvie Oddly, but, for the first time, romance brews onscreen between Vanessa Vanjie Mateo and Brooke Lynn Heights.
Honestly, the drama overshadows the rest of the season. The challenges aren’t the strongest compared to previous seasons, but L.A.D.P. is memorable for the improv skills and guest stars Fortune Feimster and Cheyenne Jackson. However, the reunion episode is to die for.
Final say: Weaker than it should be. ★★★☆☆
