Over 20 years after the original Predator film, this third film in the franchise – and fifth starring the Predator – is easily the best yet.

A group of experienced killers and a doctor (Topher Grace) are dropped into an unidentified forest. They soon find out that the forest is on a different planet, and they’ve been abducted to act as prey for warring tribes of Predators.

Even though there’s not a lot of backstory given on any of the characters, you immediately accept them and understand their similarities and differences. The ensemble cast is strong and play off each other well.

While we get to see a classic Predator, there are also new types introduced that are bigger and badder. That’s exactly what a sequel should give you.

Final say: The franchise finally has a standout. ★★★★☆
