When starting to rewatch what is currently the highest-grossing film of all time, you may begin to wonder why it has that status but as it continues, you fall back into the wonder of Pandora.
The Resources Development Administration authorizes mining on Pandora to bring unobtanium to a depleted Earth. Corporal Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) meets the people of Na’Vi as an Avatar and learns their ways from Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña).
From a story point of view, the film is basic with a plot that is well-known (see Pocahontas) and has been done many times.
However, the film’s technical aspects are what make it a marvel. The CGI is stunning and holds up incredibly. Director James Cameron created an entirely new world that you immediately become invested in.
Final say: It’s impossible not to have chills. ★★★★☆
