Though Women Talking is much more of a conversational piece than a visual stimulant, the screenplay is deeply enticing and will easily capture your attention.

After continual rapes in an isolated Mennonite community, some of the aggressors are taken to jail while most other men travel to bail them out. The women of the colony band together to make a decision: do nothing, stay and fight, or leave. When a tie occurs, seven of the women are appointed to make the decision together.

There are many conflicts that arise between the women and watching them discuss these issues makes you think both critically and emotionally. The coloring of the film is brilliant in showing how the women have been muted.

Claire Foy and Jessie Buckley give fantastically impassioned performances that continually drive the discussions.

Final say: Listen to women. ★★★★★
